Kid Rock is coming to Kelowna!
Power 104 made the official announcement Monday. He'll be here July 9 at Prospera Place.
With over 22 million albums sold and 11 albums since his debut in 1990 with "Grits Sandwiches For Breakfast", this is sure to be the summer event of the year.
Joining Kid Rock will be Matt Mays & El Torpedo, a rock group based in Nova Scotia and New York.
Tickets go on sale on May 2 at noon. Tickets are more than $80.
To lead up to this concert event, Power 104 and Kreater Custom Motorcycles present "Ride and Rock For Kids" on Saturday May 24, 2008 in support of Kids Care.
Kid’s Care purpose is to benefit children of the Central Okanagan by identifying their special needs and requirements and then developing plans and programs to meet them. Every dollar raised goes directly to the designated project.
The event will start at 10 am with a "Poker Run" throughout the Central Okanagan for motorcycle riders.
A poker run is an organized event using a form of transportation where participants travel over a pre-designated route and, at designated stops on the route, draw playing cards. The object is to have the best poker hand at the end of the run.
Starting at 5:00 pm Kelowna's funny man Herb Dixon will host a evening of rock featuring Crash Parallel from Toronto, Highway Star (a Deep Purple Tribute band) from the lower mainland, The New Odds from Vancouver and the Okanagan’s very own rockers Ten2Nine.
The cost is $104.00 to ride and rock or only $59.95 to rock only. Dinner is included in the cost from Memphis Blues Memphis Blues.
With the poker run, live entertainment, giant beverage garden and dinner, this event is sure to be a success. Tickets are limited and available now at Kreator (250)862-2424 (2759 Highway 97 North) in Kelowna.
