Vernon RCMP seized more than 2,000 marijuana plants after raids on three separate grow operations.

Police executed three search warrants Thursday morning on homes in Vernon and Coldstream.

One man was arrested at each home, while police also seized plants and grow-op equipment.

RCMP spokesman, Gord Molendyk says 1036 plants were found in a home at 456 Rockland Drive and another 647 plants at 524 Upland Drive. Both are in Coldstream.

He says the power at the Rockland Drive residence has been shut off due to a serious fire risk.

"The third house is at 1803 Pottery Road in Vernon where another 373 plants were located," says Molendyk.

"The house will be posted under the Vernon Municipal Controlled Substance Remediation bylaw."

Molendyk says the plants, had they hit the streets, would have provided the equivalent of 130 marijuana cigarettes for every high school student within the Vernon School District.

All three men remain in custody.
