Public vigilance has helped police capture the vandal who graffitied a wall in Westbank.
Police responded to a call of a suspicious person seen loitering around the Boys and Girls Club around 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Constable Steve Holmes says while doing a foot patrol in the alley, officers saw a youth busily defacing the wall of the CIBC bank with a can of spray paint.
“The 15-year-old local male was arrested and taken to the Westbank detachment where he was released to an adult on a promise to appear in court to face a charge of mischief,” says Holmes.
He says the youth has also been given conditions to stay away from the Westbank downtown core.
“Those who choose to perpetrate these acts of vandalism need to know that there are many eyes keeping watch on our streets, and that the destruction of property will not be tolerated.”
