The Cat is Back! After a successful return in 2007 the Interior Savings Fat Cat Children’s Festival is going full speed ahead for 2008.
The festival will take place on June 6th and June 7th at Waterfront Park. “We were delighted at how the public rallied around this festival last year and came back to it after it’s year off. We are looking forward to growing and improving the event in 2008” commented last year’s board chairman Kelly Fix. The Children's Festival Society of Kelowna was organized in 1990 with a mandate to establish a high-quality, professionally produced educational festival for children in the Central Okanagan. Numerous community volunteers and business partners have made the festival possible. If you have interest in corporate sponsorship or volunteering please email fatcatfestival@gmail.com for more details. - School Day Friday 8:30 AM-2:00 PM: schools and kids from throughout the region have been invited to participate in a full day of top notch entertainment and hands-on activities. - Youth Night, Friday 5:30 PM–8:30 PM: a great night of programming geared to the 10-16 year olds and their families. The stages will feature local youth bands and musicians, as well as theatre, and the Festival grounds will be full of street performers and hands-on activities. - Fat Cat Festival Parade 10:OO AM–11:30 AM: Everyone really does love a parade and this will be a great opportunity for kids of all ages to come to downtown Kelowna to enjoy the sights, sounds and excitement of a full-fledged parade. - Community Day, Saturday 11:00 AM–5:00 PM: The Fat Cat everyone knows and loves with more stage performances, more street performers and more hands-on activities. A great day for the family – including all of its generations – to enjoy together.
