COBRA invites you to the 10th annual Okanagan-Shuswap Century Ride to be held at 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, May 25, 2008. Registration is accepted on-line (see website below) only and is limited to the first 400 participants.
There will be three routes offered through some of the Okanagan’s most scenic rural farmland: 14 km, 56 km and 100 km. All rides start and finish at Memorial Park on Pleasant Valley Road in Armstrong. We provide support in the way of great volunteers and food/refreshments on route. The 14 km Ride This one is designated for kids and families or those that would like a short ride. This ride also starts at Memorial Park and loops around the town of Armstrong. The Half-Century Ride (56 km) Go about half the distance but have just as much fun, the 56 km ride also begins at Memorial Park in downtown Armstrong. This is an out and back route that turns around at the first pit stop. The course is moderately challenging with rolling hills throughout. The Century Ride (100 km) This ride begins at Memorial Park in downtown Armstrong and heads north along scenic country roads to Salmon Arm and then returns along Deep Creek Road. This course is moderately challenging with rolling hills throughout. A 2 km climb on Okanagan Avenue in Salmon Arm leading to our second and final rest stop poses the most significant character builder on the course. COST: $20 per person $10 per person for children 12 years of age and under $40 per family Registration is accepted on-line only until 8:00 p.m. PST, May 24, 2008 or until 400 participants have registered, which ever occurs first. Registration Fees include a Registration Package that includes a water bottle, all rest stop refreshments, a chance to win one of many exciting draw prizes including a Giant Road Bike and $2 goes to support Bicycles for Humanity! All participants are required to check-in on event day between 8:00 a.m. and 8:45 a.m. at the Registration Table at Memorial Park to receive your registration package. |
