The Kelowna Jays Baseball Organization is pleased to announce a partnership with the Breast Cancer Society of Canada for a major fund raiser – to take place at the home of the Jays, Elk Stadium, on Thursday night May 8th, 2008, at 7 pm. On this night the Dakoda’s Jays will “step up to the plate for Breast Cancer” and hopefully with the support of the Kelowna community will “Hit a Home Run for Breast Cancer” and all cancer in general!! For the May 8th game, when the Jays host the Vernon Diamondbacks, they will be proud to wear Pink in support of the outstanding efforts of the BCSC. For this special event the Dakoda’s Jays will proudly wear Pink Jerseys and during the game will auction off each jersey with 100% of the proceeds donated to BCSC. The evening will also feature some other Jay’s apparel to be auctioned and lots of lucky ticket prizes. The Jays will also donate 100% of the evening’s proceeds from gate admissions and other sources. Thursday May 8th promises to be a memorable evening – great baseball – a win for the home team- and raising much “awareness” and “money” for this extremely worthwhile cause.
