Emergency Preparedness
Kelowna Fire Station # 1

Time:
IS YOUR FAMILY PREPARED?

Emergency Preparedness Week runs from Sunday May 4 to Saturday May 10, 2008. Public Safety Canada and local Emergency Response Services are urging everyone to take time now to become better informed and prepared.

“An emergency can happen anytime,” notes Kelowna Fire Chief Rene Blanleil, “and people need to be prepared so they can manage on their own for at least 72 hours.“

Representatives from local Emergency Services will be available to meet with the public to discuss emergency preparedness on:

Saturday May 10

11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Kelowna Fire Station # 1

2255 Enterprise Way

Public safety begins at home, and individual preparedness can greatly reduce the potential impact of an emergency.

Know the risks specific to your community.

· Develop a family emergency plan and practice it.

· Prepare an emergency kit for your home and your vehicle.
