The Pesticide Bylaw & You
EECO Centre

Time:
HOW WILL THE PESTICIDE BYLAW AFFECT YOU?

If you’re interested in learning how to grow great grass without using pesticides come to the EECO Centre (Environmental Education Centre Okanagan) on Tuesday, May 13 at Mission Creek Regional Park.

City staff will host a workshop from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. to explain Kelowna’s upcoming pesticide bylaw which will restrict the use of pesticides for non-essential purposes. The Pesticide Regulation Bylaw will be implemented in 2009.

Learn how this bylaw will affect you and learn how easy it is to build a healthy lawn without pesticides. While many people think pesticides help make their lawn healthier, the opposite is often true. In addition to being harmful to human health and the environment, pesticides often kill beneficial organisms, resulting in a lawn that is pesticide dependent as opposed to naturally healthy.

Skip the weed and feed and pesticide products and follow simple tips to grow great grass.
